A Season of Friends, Fun, and Growth
Summer break is a long stretch — and for high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, finding the right kind of summer can be a real challenge. That’s where our Summer Connections Program comes in. Running June through July, Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, this program gives students a safe, structured place to spend their days exploring, learning, and (most importantly) having fun with friends.
What Students Get to Do
Days are packed with hands-on activities designed to build confidence and community:
- Arts, crafts & games — creative time that’s actually creative
- Social skills & independence building — practical, everyday-life skills
- Community outings — getting out and exploring Boone County
- Experienced, supportive staff — people who genuinely get it
It’s the kind of structure that helps students grow without feeling like school, and the kind of fun that comes with real connection.
Is Your Student a Good Fit?
Summer Connections is designed for students who are:
- Restroom independent
- Able to eat independently
- Comfortable participating safely in groups
- Ready to engage in community outings
If that sounds like your student, we’d love to have them join us.
